Bond Scheme

Light for Life can support people on a low income who may be homeless or threatened with homelessness to secure accommodation using a bond in place of a cash deposit.

How do I access the scheme?
Call into our office and one of our advisors will be able to assess your eligibility for the scheme at the time of your visit. Assessments are carried out on a drop-in basis during office hours. The advisor will assess your situation and explain how the scheme works.
We will also look at:
• Income
Local Connection
• Circumstances
• Support needs
• Right to reside
• Past tenancies
• Other options

If you meet the criteria for the Bond Scheme, your application will be placed on a waiting list for suitable accommodation. This list is not a guarantee of a property though we will do our best to find something suitable and affordable for you.
Please note, if you have pets it will probably take longer to find accommodation for you.
You will also be given:
• Advice and guidance on finding a suitable tenancy
• A chance to ensure proof of income and other documentation is up to date

Anyone offered a tenancy through the Bond Scheme will be allocated a tenancy support worker.
