Victim intervention service

Light for Life employs two Victims Intervention Practioners who work across the Merseyside to provide support and advice to victims of Anti Social Behaviour and Hate Crime.

Funded by Merseyside PCC, the VIPs work with Merseyside Police in response to the difficulties faced by individuals and families across Merseyside. The VIPs receive referrals largely from Merseyside Police but also from other agencies working with vulnerable people, and strives to address the issues ‘surrounding’ the crime, rather than the crime itself. This may mean liaising with landlords and housing associations, Health professionals, Social workers to plan interventions designed to meet a person’s particular needs.
